Neal Stephenson
Neal Stephenson was born in 1959. His first big hit came with the novel Snow Crash in 1992. Three years later, Stephenson achieved international recognition as a science fiction author with The Diamond Age (1995), was awarded the Hugo and Locus literary prizes and was included among the finalists of the Nebula prize. Cryptonomicon, from 1999 (Locus Prize 2000) has become a cult book for hackers and computer aficionados.
The Baroque Cycle, which begins with Argento-Vivo, is a saga composed of eight independent historical-scientific novels. It has been translated into twenty languages and was awarded the Arthur C. Clarke Literary Prize in 2004. Neal Stephenson lives in Seattle, Washington, USA.
