N. K. Jemisin

Fifth Station, by N. K. Jemisin, won the Hugo Award for Best Novel and was considered one of the best books of 2015 by The New York Times. The author also won the Locus Award for her first novel, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, and her short stories and novels have been nominated for the Hugo, World Fantasy and Nebula awards several times, being part of the shortlists of the Crawford and James Tiptree, Jr. awards. A Brooklyn native, N. K. Jemisin is a science fiction and fantasy critic for The New York Times.
