Moisés de Lemos Martins é Professor Catedrático do Departamento de Ciências da Comunicação da Universidade do Minho (UM) e Diretor do Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Sociedade (CECS) da mesma universidade. É Presidente da SOPCOM - Associação Portuguesa de Ciências da Comunicação e Presidente do Instituto de Ciências Sociais da UM. Doutorado pela Universidade de Estrasburgo em Ciências Sociais (com especialidade em Sociologia), tem publicado em Portugal e no estrangeiro no âmbito da Semiótica Social e da Sócio-Antropologia da Comunicação.
