Misty Copeland

Misty Copeland (Kansas, Missouri, 10 de setembro de 1982) é a principal bailarina do American Ballet Theatre e a primeira mulher afro-americana a exercer essa função na história da companhia. Em 2008 recebeu a Leonore Annenberg Fellowship in the Arts, uma conceituada bolsa que é atribuída a jovens artistas de extraordinário talento, e foi admitida, quatro anos depois, no Boys & Girls Club National Hall of Fame. Em 2015 foi incluída pela revista Time na lista das 100 pessoas mais influentes e recebeu o prémio de "Mulher do Ano", atribuído pela revista Glamour. Considerada pelo The New York Times a mais famosa bailarina dos Estados Unidos, Misty Copeland reside atualmente na cidade de Nova Iorque.
