Mishka Ben-David
Former high-ranking agent of MossadMishka Ben-David, born in 1952 in Israel, is today an award-winning writer of espionage novels. Among his works are... Operation Beirut, Forbidden Love in St. Petersburg, Final Stop, Algiers and The Beluga Archive, all based on his 12 years of experience in the Israeli secret service. In The Shark, published in 2017, imagined a Hamas attack on a kibbutz in southern Israel, as indeed happened on October 7, 2023.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, where he earned a master's degree in Comparative Literature, and completed his doctorate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, focusing on Israeli war novels from the 1950s. In 2003, he received the Prime Minister's Prize for Hebrew Literary Works. He is also a member of the Israel Academy of Arts and Sciences and a university professor.
He lives with his family on a farm in the mountains of Jerusalem, where he raises riding horses.
