Nasceu em Moçambique em 1973. Licenciou-se em Engenharia Civil em 1996 na Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP). Concluiu o doutoramento na Universidade de Cambridge em 2007. Atualmente é Professor Auxiliar do Departamento de Engenharia Civil da Universidade de Aveiro, onde leciona disciplinas na área das estruturas.
É autor e coautor de várias comunicações e artigos científicos apresentados em congressos e publicados em revistas técnico-científicas e da especialidade.
