Mercè Rodoreda

Mercè Rodoreda was born in 1908 in Barcelona and died in Girona in 1983. Between 1939 and 1957, she lived in exile, first in France and then in Switzerland. A leading figure in contemporary Catalan literature, her works have been translated into more than thirty languages ​​and have earned her numerous distinctions, including the Honorary Prize of Catalan Letters and the City of Barcelona Prize. Her bibliography includes... Diamond Square (1962) occupies a central place, the novels still stand out.
