Max Porter é autor de O Luto é a Coisa com Penas, obra de estreia vencedora dos prémios Sunday Times/Peters Fraser + Dunlop Young Writer of the Year Award, do Europese Literatuurprijs e do International Dylan Thomas Prize, tendo sido o texto adaptado e levado a cena em 2018, sob a direção de Enda Walsh. Seguiram-se Lanny, nomeado para o Booker Prize de 2019, e The Death of Francis Bacon. Com uma obra publicada em mais de vinte países e muitíssimo elogiada pela crítica, Max Porter é unanimemente considerado uma das vozes mais originais da literatura inglesa contemporânea.
