Max Hastings
Max Hastings is the author of twenty-seven books, mostly about military conflicts. Born in London in 1945 and graduated from University College, Oxford, before embarking on journalism. In 1967 he joined the staff of the World Press Institute, in the United States. From then on he worked as a reporter for the BBC and collaborated in several English newspapers. He covered eleven conflicts, including the Vietnam conflict, the Yom Kippur War in 1973, and the Falklands War in 1982. He wrote Vietnam, Catastrophe, Armageddon, Retribution, Winston's War, The Korean War , and Inferno, among other books. He has been distinguished with numerous awards for his work in journalism and books.
