Matthew Quick nasceu em 1973. Formou-se em Escrita Criativa no Goddard College e foi professor de língua inglesa. É autor do bestseller Guia para Um Final Feliz, que a Presença publicou na coleção «Grandes Narrativas» e que deu origem ao filme homónimo, de grande sucesso, com Robert de Niro, Bradley Cooper e Jennifer Lawrence, distinguido com um Óscar e um Globo de Ouro. A obra de Matthew Quick recebeu já diversos louvores e distinções, incluindo uma menção honrosa do prémio PEN/Hemingway, e tem sido traduzida para diversas línguas com um excelente acolhimento.
