Mary Simses cresceu no Connecticut, Estados Unidos. A sua paixão pela escrita manifestou-se desde a infância, altura em que se entretinha a escrever contos. Passou grande parte da vida em New England, onde trabalhou na redação de uma revista e depois na área do direito empresarial, reservando a escrita para os tempos livres. Os seus romances foram todos muito bem-sucedidos. Mary gosta de fotografia, de jazz, e de fugir para o Connecticut no verão. Atualmente vive no Sul da Florida com o marido.
