Desde pequena, Kathy gosta muito de desenhar e pintar histórias.
Tem uma gaveta cheia delas, sendo a Matilde uma das suas personagens preferidas.
Gosta de escrever usando palavras simples e descomplicadas, que facilmente possam ser entendidas pelas crianças e que se relacionem diretamente com elas, com as suas vivências e imaginação.
Para aprender mais sobre ilustração e sobre histórias, fez uma pós-graduação em Ilustração e outra em Animação de Histórias.
Além de escrever e de se dedicar à ilustração, Kathy é também educadora a tempo inteiro num jardim de infância em Lisboa, há mais de vinte anos.
É igualmente diretora pedagógica da escola onde trabalha.
