Mary Bly é professora de Literatura Inglesa na prestigiada Fordham University. Sob o pseudónimo Eloisa James escreve romances de época e é presença constante nos tops de vendas, tendo várias obras publicadas na Quinta Essência.
É mãe de dois filhos e, numa ironia particularmente deliciosa para uma escritora romântica, casada com um verdadeiro cavaleiro italiano. Vive com a família em Nova Iorque, mas pode ser encontrada por vezes em Paris ou Itália.
