Martin Cruz Smith

Martin Cruz Smith was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from university in 1964. He worked as a journalist and began his writing career in the 1970s. Among his award-winning works, the following stand out: Gorky Park, published with resounding success in numerous countries, Havana Bay, Red Square, The Final Countdown, The North Star and RoseWinner of a CWA Gold Dagger for fiction in the UK, he has also won the Hammett Prize twice in the United States. He lives with his wife and children in Northern California.
