Marlo Morgan nasceu no Iowa, E.U.A. em 1937. Estudou no Cleveland Chiropractic College, onde recebeu o doutoramento em bioquímica e medicina oriental. Mudou-se para Kansas City no Missouri, onde se casou e teve dois filhos. Depois de 25 anos de casamento, divorciou-se, decidiu abandonar a sua carreira médica e dedicar-se exclusivamente à escrita.
O seu livro Uma Mensagem do Outro Lado do Mundo tornou-se um bestseller do New York Times, top de vendas durante 31 semanas consecutivas. Está, até ao momento, publicado em vinte e quatro países.
Marlo reside atualmente em Lee Summit, no Missouri.
