Marlene Ferraz, de 1979, tem os pés pousados em terras a norte. Psicóloga, tem vindo a dedicar-se à escrita como um exercício de decomposição da experiência e alinhamento da desordem. Com um amor particular pelo conto, publicou Na Terra dos Homens (prémio Miguel Torga 2008), O Amargo das Laranjas (prémio Florêncio Terra 2008) e O Tempo do Senhor Blume outros contos (prémio Afonso Duarte 2012). Estreou-se no romance com A Vida Inútil de José Homem (prémio Agustina Bessa-Luís 2012), seguindo-se As Falsas Memórias de Manoel Luz (finalista do Grande Prémio de Romance e Novela da APE 2017).
