Mário da Silva Moura

Mário Moura was born on December 13, 1927, in Coimbra. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Coimbra in 1952. He presided over the board of the Portuguese Association of General Practitioners (APMCG) and was its honorary president. He was vice-president of the Ibero-American Confederation of Family Medicine. He was awarded the rank of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Republic. He received the Hippocrates Medal from... Societas Internationalis Medicinae Generalis, the City Medal "Peace and Freedom" and the Medal of Distinguished Services (gold grade) from the Ministry of Health. He won the first edition of the Miller Guerra Prize. Throughout his life he wrote journalistic articles, having directed the newspaper Notícias de Setúbal. He was director of the Portuguese Journal of General Practice and the Family Doctor newspaper. He is the author of the following books: On the other side of the symptom; And the New Man?; The Trajectory of Love; In the Conquest of Freedom; Medical Stories; The Chances; The patient, co-author of their illness.; Confessions; The Revolution of Tenderness.
