Marie Vareille nasceu na Borgonha em 1985 e vive nos Países Baixos com o marido e as duas filhas. É autora de vários bestsellers, com quase um milhão de vendas em todo o mundo. A Frágil Luz do Mundo foi finalista do Prix Maison de la Presse e do Prix Audiolib, tendo vencido o Grand Prix des Blogueurs Littéraires e o Prix Relay Poche. O livro anterior da autora, O Desaparecimento de Sarah Leroy, ganhou o Prix des Lecteurs Système U e o Prix des Lecteurs de la Librairie Lamartine. Os seus livros estão traduzidos em 15 países.
