Maria Manuel Baptista

Maria Manuel Rocha Teixeira Baptista holds a degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto and a master's degree in Educational Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra. She holds a PhD in Culture from the University of Aveiro, specializing in Philosophy of Culture, having defended her thesis entitled "The Passion to Understand – The Philosophy of Culture in Eduardo Lourenço." Her research focuses on post-colonial studies, gender, leisure, and cultural tourism. She is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro and was the director of the Doctoral Program in Cultural Studies (UA/UM) until 2015. She has published extensively both nationally and internationally in the field of Cultural Studies. Currently, she coordinates the Research Centre for Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Aveiro.
