Licenciada em Filosofia e Mestre em Filosofia da Natureza e do Ambiente. Investigadora do Centro de Filosofia da Universidade de Lisboa (ética e valores). Vice-Presidente da Sociedade de Ética Ambiental. Publicou diversos artigos em revistas e obras colectivas na área da «ética, cidadania e ambiente». Autora das seguintes obras: O Valor do Mundo Natural (2003); Vida: propriedade do Organismo ou do Planeta? (2004); Éticas e Políticas Ambientais (2004, com Cristina Beckert); Gaia: Para uma aliança com a Terra (2009).
