Maria Jawaa

Maria Jawaa nasceu em Nova Lisboa, Huambo, Angola, em 1942. Filha de pais emigrados nas décadas de 20 e 30 do século passado, ali passou a sua infância e juventude.
É licenciada em Filologia Românica pela Universidade Clássica de Lisboa.
Casada, mãe de dois filhos, voltou a Angola, mas regressou definitivamente a Portugal em setembro de 1975, na ponte aérea, antes da independência da sua terra natal.
Tem dois livros publicados: «Memória do Esquecimento» e «Kwacha, o ­Guerreiro».
