Nasceu em Lisboa e é Jornalista de formação (Universidade Católica Portuguesa). Trabalhou vários anos como jornalista, recebeu o Prémio Revelação do Clube de Jornalistas mas decidiu entrar no mundo dos livros infantojuvenis em 2009. Tem mais de 65 livros publicados (vários constam no Plano Nacional de Leitura) e alguns títulos noutros países. "Diário de uma miúda como tu", "Sem Abrigo", "Quando eu For... Grande", "A Admirável Aventura de Malala", "O Pequeno Livro da Vida", "O Pequeno Livro da Empatia", entre outros, são alguns dos seus livros.
É mãe do José e da Maria Francisca e acredita que os livros podem mudar o Mundo.
