Maria Gabriela Llansol nasceu em Lisboa em 1931. É apontada por muitos como um dos nomes mais inovadores e importantes da ficção portuguesa contemporânea. Levando às últimas consequências a criação de um universo pessoal que desde os anos 60 não tem paralelo na literatura portuguesa, a obra de Maria Gabriela Llansol estilhaça as fronteiras entre o que designamos por ficção, diário, poesia, ensaio ou memórias. Faleceu em 2008.
