Maria Antónia Lopes
Maria Antónia Lopes, PhD (2000) and Habilitation (2008) in Modern and Contemporary History from the University of Coimbra, is a professor at the Faculty of Arts of the same University, a researcher at the Centre for the History of Society and Culture at the University of Coimbra, and a collaborator at the Centre for Studies in Religious History at the Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon.
Her research area is the social history of Portugal from the 18th to the 20th centuries, specifically focusing on the following themes: women, children, the poor, social policies, welfare and healthcare institutions, and private life.
