Margarida Utne é o nome literário (na ficção) de Margarida Ponte Ferreira. Passou a infância e a juventude nos Açores e em Moçambique, licenciou-se em Economia em Lisboa e esteve depois mais de três décadas no estrangeiro, tendo vivido na Noruega, na Suíça e em Bruxelas. Atualmente vive em Lisboa, passando também longas temporadas na Ericeira e na Noruega.
Publicou três romances policiais na Editorial Caminho — A Morte por um Fio, O Último Comboio para Roma e Terra Incógnita — e dois volumes de memórias — Meia Vida e Para lá de Badajoz.
