Margaret McDonald

Margaret McDonald é uma autora escocesa, de Glasgow, cidade onde vive e escreve. Tem textos publicados em várias revistas literárias, entre as quais a Breath and Shadow, dedicada à temática da deficiência. Construiu um per curso marcado pela atenção à experiência da classe trabalhadora, à vivência estudantil e ao sistema de saúde escocês, refletindo a sua própria trajetória como ex-funcionária do National Health Service (NHS). Foi a primeira da sua família a frequentar o ensino superior, tendo concluído o mestrado em Literatura Inglesa na Universidade de Glasgow com distinção. Em 2025, aos 27 anos, tornou-se a mais jovem vencedora da Carnegie Medal com o seu romance de estreia, Os Rapazes de Glasgow, obra também distinguida com o UKLA Award, o UKLA Shadower’s Choice Award e o Branford Boase Award, além de finalista de vários outros prémios de referência.
