Marcus Pfister
(Bern, Switzerland, 1960) He studied at the Bern School of Art and began working at an advertising agency as a graphic designer. After traveling through the USA, Canada, and Mexico, he returned to Switzerland, where he began his career as an illustrator. He published his first book in 1986 and six years later conceived his great international success, "The Rainbow Fish", which has become a book series with over 30 million copies sold worldwide, and also includes an animated television adaptation. Since then, he has published nearly fifty books that have been translated into numerous languages. He has traveled throughout Asia, America, and Europe showcasing his work, which is characterized by the extensive use of different styles and techniques, ranging from stories with two distinct endings or books with divided pages, to the holographic images evident in "The Rainbow Fish"He also received, among other awards, the Christopher Prize (1992, New York), was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Prize (1993) and was awarded the Critici Award in Erba (1993) at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
