Marc Bloch (1886-1944) foi um historiador francês e fundador da Annales d’histoire économique et sociale, «a melhor revista de história francesa», conforme escreveu, logo em 1940, Raymond Aron. Na Segunda Guerra Mundial aderiu à Resistência, tendo sido capturado, torturado e morto pelos nazis. É considerado um dos maiores historiadores de todos os tempos.
