Manuel Catarino é escritor e jornalista. Ao longo da sua carreira, foi estagiário no diário Europeu, repórter do semanário Tal&Qual, chefe de redação do 24Horas, editor da revista Focus e chefe de redação e subdiretor do Correio da Manhã. Atualmente, integra a equipa da plataforma digital de informação 24Horas.
É autor de obras como Os Crimes que Chocaram Portugal; Spínola: Senhor da Guerra; Amália: Episódios, Segredos e Excentricidades; As Grandes Operações da Guerra Colonial; Salazar, a doença e a morte; Álvaro Cunhal, a Fuga do Forte de Peniche; e A Culpa dos McCann. Nasceu por acaso em Alvor, no longínquo ano de 1960, e cresceu em Ferragudo.
