Luiz Leite

Nasceu na Guiné-Bissau a 7 de outubro de 1950, no hoje designado Hospital Simão Mendes. Em 1967 completa o sétimo ano (hoje 11º). Em julho de 1974 conclui o curso de medicina na Universidade Clássica de Lisboa. Especializou-se em Dermatologia e aproveita algum tempo livre para voar o seu Antonov An-2. Artista Plástico, dedica-se à pintura a óleo e conta com várias exposições coletivas e individuais. A escrita nunca esteve no seu horizonte, mas uma cena a que assistiu durante umas férias em Ponta Anchaca, na ilha de Rubane no arquipélago dos Bijagós, Guiné-Bissau, levou-o a aventurar-se no romance que agora é publicado...
