Luisa Barreto nasceu em Lisboa a 24 de outubro de 1951. Tirou o curso de Românicas e foi professora. Nos anos 80 conheceu a Antroposofia. Em 1992 foi viver para os arredores de Sintra. O contacto com a natureza, aprofundado pela abordagem antroposófica inspirou-a a escrever os seguintes livros: "Pelo Caminho das Fadas", "Em Tempos Que Já Lá Vão", "Avè Terra", "Encantos na Serra da Lua", "A Ronda das Fadas" e "Histórias Antigas com Rima e Cantigas".
