Lucas Silva

Born in France in 1973. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in 1996. He obtained a master's degree from FEUP in 1999. He received his doctorate from the University of Bristol, England, in 2004. He is a Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). He leads the Advanced Bonding Processes Unit (UPAL) of the Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering (INEGI). He is the editor-in-chief of the journal Annals of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part L: Journal of Materials: Design and Applications (Sage).
