Louis Menand (Nova Iorque, 1952) é um conceituado crítico, ensaísta e pensador norte-americano, colaborador de longa data da revista The New Yorker, professor na Universidade de Harvard e autor de inúmeras obras sobre a história cultural e intelectual do século XX, que lhe granjearam vários prémios. Dentre estes, destaca-se a atribuição, em 2002, do Prémio Pulitzer de História ao seu livro The Metaphysical Club. O seu livro mais recente, O Mundo Livre, foi finalista do National Book Award. Em 2015, o Presidente Barack Obama atribuiu a Louis Menand a National Humanities Medal.
