Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin

Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin (1743-1803) foi um importante filósofo e místico do Iluminismo francês.

Fez parte da Ordem dos Cavaleiros Maçons Eleitos Cohen do Universo, dirigida por Martinès de Pasqually, de quem foi o secretário durante um período da sua vida.

Nesse movimento tradicional conheceu Jean-Baptiste Willermoz, que veio a criar em 1778 o Rito Escocês Rectificado no seio da Maçonaria.

Saint-Martin legou um vasto conjunto de obras da mais pura espiritualidade iluminista, ao mesmo tempo que foi o responsável pela tradução e edição de vários livros do filósofo alemão Jacob Böhme.
