Lebanon Hanover

Lebanon Hanover is a darkwave musical duo formed in 2010 by Larissa Iceglass (Germany) and William Maybelline (United Kingdom). Known for their minimalist and introspective aesthetic, the band explores themes of alienation, nostalgia, and existentialism, combining cold sounds of post-punk synthesizers and guitars with melancholic lyrics and hypnotic vocals.

The duo emerged as an artistic and musical project, inspired by movements such as 80s post-punk and gothic minimalism. His debut album, The World Is Getting Colder (2012), stood out for its dark and raw sound, with tracks like "Gallowdance" and "Die World", which became anthems of the genre and garnered a loyal fan base in the underground scene.

In the following years, they released albums such as Why Not Just Be Solo (2012) and Tomb for Two (2013), continuing to deepen their cold and intimate aesthetic. The track "Autumn" has become one of the band's most iconic works, reflecting their poetic lyricism and ability to create deep and engaging atmospheres.

Lebanon Hanover is also known for the strong connection between music and its visual aesthetics, which evokes desolate landscapes, brutalist architecture, and references to Gothic art. This multidimensional approach reinforces the band's unique identity within darkwave.

With a discography that includes works such as Let Them Be Alien (2018) and Sci-Fi Sky (2020), Lebanon Hanover continues to be a vital force in the darkwave and contemporary post-punk scene. The duo's authenticity and emotional depth secure their place as one of the most respected and influential names in modern alternative music.
