Laura Restrepo

Laura Restrepo nasceu em Bogotá, na Colômbia, em 1950. Licenciada em Filosofia e Letras, foi professora universitária e dedicou-se ativamente à vida política e ao jornalismo.
Atualmente, é professora na Universidade de Cornell, nos Estados Unidos. Alguns dos seus romances - O Leopardo ao Sol, Doce Companhia, A Noiva Obscura e Delírio - encontram-se traduzidos em Portugal.
Recebeu, entre outros, os prémios Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, France Cultura, Grinzane Cavour (para o melhor romance estrangeiro publicado em Itália) e Alfaguara (sendo presidente do júri José Saramago).
Demasiados Heróis, publicado originalmente em 2009, confirmou-a como um dos grandes nomes da literatura latino-americana.
