Kristen Painter foi professora de inglês e é autora de numerosos romances de fantasia e paranormal. Tem no seu currículo várias nomeações para os prémios Golden Heart e louvores de alguns escritores bem conhecidos como Patricia Briggs ou Gena Showalter. Kristen, que já viveu em Nova Iorque, mudou-se para a Florida, onde reside atualmente com o marido. Para dar cor às suas histórias recorre várias vezes às suas próprias experiências e à época em que trabalhou no mundo da moda, na Christian Dior, ou como maître para a Wolfgang Puck. Foi ainda Personal Trainer.
