Korky Paul nasceu no Zimbabwe e é um conhecidíssimo ilustrador. As suas ilustrações aparecem em mais de 25 livros de aventuras da Mimi, mas também em antologias de poesia e noutros livros ilustrados. Conhecido apenas para si mesmo como «o mais importante retratista do mundo», Korky visita regularmente escolas onde promove a sua paixão pelo desenho.
Vive em Oxford com a sua mulher e adora cozinhar no "braai" (palavra utilizada pelos sul-africanos em vez de barbecue.
