Katerina Silvánova nasceu em Kharkiv, na Ucrânia. As autoras conheceram-se em 2016 e começaram a trabalhar no manuscrito de Um Verão de Lenço Vermelho. O enorme sucesso da história levou à proibição dos livros LGBT+ no país e, após uma onda de ameaças de morte, as autoras fugiram da Rússia.
