Karen Armstrong
Karen Armstrong, born in 1944 in the United Kingdom, is the author of numerous books on religious topics, translated into 45 languages, including A Story of God, Jerusalem: A City, Three Religions, Buddha, Great Religious Traditions and Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life, all published by Temas e Debates. In 2008 it received the TED Prize She began working with that organization on the Charter for Compassion, available online to the general public, and formulated by eminent thinkers from Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. The Charter for Compassion was launched globally in 2009. Karen Armstrong is a United Nations Ambassador for the project. Alliance of Civilizations, whose objective is to strengthen dialogue between the West and the Islamic world.
