Jutta Bauer (Autora e Ilustradora) Nasceu em 1955, estudou design em Hamburgo onde vive e trabalha como ilustradora até aos dias de hoje. É uma das mais prestigiadas ilustradoras na Alemanha e no mundo e tem merecido ao longo dos anos várias distinções e prémios. Foi premiada pela IBBY em 1994; recebeu o German Youth Literature Prize, prémio de Literatura Alemã para a juventude em 2001; entre outras distinções. Em 2010 recebe o Prémio Hans Christian Andersen, o "pequeno" Prémio Nobel da Literatura.
