Júlio Verne

French writer (1828-1905), he was the creator of the novel of scientific anticipation. He became famous with Around the World in Eighty Days (1873), Five Weeks in a Balloon (1863), Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), From the Earth to the Moon (1865), Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870) and The Mysterious Island (1874). He predicted events such as the trip to the moon, the appearance of the submarine and television. Verne's works were later adapted by Walt Disney.
