Julián Fuks
Born in São Paulo in 1981 to Argentinian parents, Julián Fuks published his first book. Fragments of Alberto, Ulysses, Carolina, and me, in 2004, and with it he won the Nascente Prize from the University of São Paulo.
In 2007 and 2012, he was a finalist for the Jabuti Prize and the Portugal Telecom Prize with his books. Stories of literature and blindness and In search of romance, respectively. In 2012, he was considered by Granta magazine to be one of the best young Brazilian writers.
The novel Resistance (Companhia das Letras, 2016) earned him the José Saramago Literary Prize and the Jabuti Prize for Best Book. This was followed by... The occupation, published in Brazil in 2019 and now in a Portuguese edition by Companhia das Letras Portugal.
