Juan Gabriel Vásquez was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1973. He studied Literature at the Sorbonne in Paris and made Barcelona his home for over a decade. He is the author of the novels... In 2012, he was awarded the Roger Caillois Prize in Paris for his body of work, an award previously given to authors such as Mario Vargas Llosa, Carlos Fuentes, Chico Buarque, Milton Hatoum, and Roberto Bolaño.
