He holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University, where he specialized in Political Economy, and is a professor at the Nova School of Business and Economics and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London. His research has been reviewed in Time magazine and in newspapers such as the New York Times, Handelsblatt, and La Repubblica, among others. He co-edited, with Francesco Caselli and Mário Centeno, the volume After The Crisis: Reform, Recovery, and Growth in Europe, published by Oxford University Press.
