José Manuel Simões

José Manuel Simões holds a post-doctoral degree in Communication Sciences from the Catholic University of Portugal, a doctorate in Global Studies from the University of Saint Joseph (Macau), a master's degree in Communication and Journalism from the University of Coimbra, and a degree in International Journalism from the Porto School of Journalism, where he taught. He has published numerous academic articles and journalistic works in Portugal, Brazil, China, the United States, Thailand, Japan, and England. He wrote the biographies in Portuguese of Cesária Évora, David Byrne, Delfins, and Julio Iglesias. He was a television and print journalist and wrote for... News Journal, Morning Mail and Today MacauSince 2008, she has coordinated the Communication & Media department at the University of Saint Joseph in Macau. She has also published several books with Media XXI, including... Potiguara Indians - Memory, Asylum and Power, Light Point, God Tupã and Multicultural Journalism in Portuguese - A Case Study in Macau.
