José António Barreiros nasceu em Malanje, Angola, em 1949. É advogado criminalista e autor de vários livros sobre essa área jurídica. Tem estudado a guerra secreta em Portugal no período 1939-1945, sendo autor do site 24Land. Sobre esse tema publicou O Espião Alemão em Goa e Traição a Salazar (ambos pela Oficina do Livro), além de Nathalie Sergueiew – Uma Agente Dupla em Lisboa, Rogério de Menezes – O Homem das Cartas de Londres, Leslie Howard – O 13.o Passageiro e 00 Fleming – Ensaio sobre a Imortalidade. Na ficção escreveu Contos de Desaforo e Infinito Majestoso.
