José António Bandeirinha (Coimbra, 1958) é arquiteto e professor no Departamento de Arquitetura da Universidade de Coimbra. Autor de vários livros e ensaios, tem vindo a desenvolver trabalho de investigação sobre temas associados à crítica, à prática, à teoria e à história da arquitetura, que se centram, essencialmente, nas consequências urbanas e arquitetónicas das práticas políticas. Este livro surge como corolário dos seus interesses sobre a questão da cidade, à qual dedicou uma série de ensaios que aqui também se incorporam.
