José Alberto Ribeiro
Doctor of Art History from the Faculty of Arts of Lisbon and Director of the Ajuda National Palace since 2013 and of the Royal Treasury Museum since 2022. As Director of the Ajuda National Palace, he performed duties inherent to the management of the Museum, cultural programming and co-curatorship of several exhibitions, responsible for the patronage support granted to the museum for the restoration of rooms, musealization of new spaces, establishment of partnerships with universities, among other areas. He was the coordinator of the creation of the Royal Treasury Museum.
He is the author or co-author of books and studies published in journals or books on Art History and Heritage. His research has focused on the fields of Museology, the history of collecting, and Portuguese art of the 19th and 20th centuries, with particular attention to members of the Portuguese Royal House and their cultural and artistic practices.
