Jorge Freitas Seabra, médico, foi Diretor do Serviço de Ortopedia Infantil do Hospital Pediátrico de Coimbra, Presidente da Sociedade Portuguesa de Ortopedia e Traumatologia e Presidente da Sociedade Ortopédica de Língua Portuguesa, tendo-lhe sido atribuída a Medalha de Mérito da Ordem dos Médicos.
Autor dos livros de ficção: Anos de eclipse (1999), O tempo só falta no fim (2002), O cão andaluz (2007) e Dias de Vento Sul (2023), os dois últimos vencedores do prémio "Fialho de Almeida" – prémio bienal para o melhor romance de ficção instituído pela Sociedade Portuguesa de Escritores e Artistas Médicos (SOPEAM).
O tempo só falta no fim, agora novamente editado, é um dos seus livros mais procurados.
